Benchmark indices, Nifty and Sensex, opened trade at record highs, following the strong buying in Telecom, Metal, Pharma, and Banking sectors. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 33,653, up by 80 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10,446 up by 22 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 0.03% at 16,721.04 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up by 0.54% at 17,765.39. Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, ONGC, Ambuja Cement, and Hindalco are among the gainers, whereas PowerGrid, BPCL, Adani Ports, ICICI Bank, and HCL are losing steam on NSE. Some buying seen in Telecom, Capital Goods, Reality, Metal, and Pharma sectors, whereas Energy and IT sectors show weakness on the BSE.

Power grid – Power grid profit in the second quarter of fiscal year 2018 has increased by 14.4 percent to Rs 2141 crore. Power Grid’s profits in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017 were Rs 1872 crores. In the second quarter of the financial year 2018, the gross revenue of the power grid has risen to Rs 7252.8 crore. Power grid income in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017 was Rs 6250.9 crores. Power Grid’s Abitda has increased from Rs 5600.2 crore to Rs 6474.8 crore in the second quarter on a yearly basis. Power Grid’s ABITDA margin dropped from 89.6 per cent to 89.3 per cent in the second quarter on a year-on-year basis.

Glenmark pharma – In the second quarter of fiscal year 2018, the profit of Glenmark Pharma declined by 4.2 per cent to Rs 214.1 crore. Glenmark Pharma’s profits in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017 were Rs 223.5 crore. In the second quarter of the financial year 2018, the income of Glenmark Pharma rose 1.5 percent to Rs 2256.6 crore. In the second quarter of the financial year 2017, the income of Glenmark Pharma was Rs 2224.1 crore.
Ge T & D – In the second quarter of fiscal year 2018, GE T & D’s profit has increased 2.3 times to Rs 47.5 crore. In the second quarter of FY 2017, GE T & D’s profits stood at Rs 20.5 crore. In the second quarter of the financial year 2018, the GE T & D income has increased by 4 per cent to Rs 870 crore. In the second quarter of FY 2017, GE T & D had a revenue of Rs 835 crores.
