The Sensex was trading higher by nearly 150 points and the Nifty above the 10,550-mark on amid positive global cues together with sustained foreign fund inflows on Friday. Stocks of Idea Cellular Limited gained 14 percent after the telecom major formed a plan to raise up to Rs 6750 crore, which include the preferential allotment of equity shares of Rs 3,250 cr.
The BSE index Sensex was up 153.47 points or 0.45% at 34,123.11 and the Nifty 50-share of NSE index was up 41.55 points or 0.50% at 10,546.35 in the later morning hours.
Shares of oil marketing companies declined, which include Hindustan Petroleum Corpn (-1.06%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn (- 0.70%) and Indian Oil Corpn (- 0.56%) on soaring global crude oil prices. Bharat Petroleum Corpn, GAIL (India) and Castrol India were also trading down.
Except oil & gas, all the other BSE sectoral indices were trading in the green. The metal index gained the most by 1.35%, followed by realty 1.26%, consumer durables and TECk 1.17%, while oil & gas index was down 0.2%.
