Sensex, Nifty started on a positive note on Tuesday’s morning trade with the key equity indices Sensex & Nifty hitting record highs. The Sensex rose 134.73 points to hit an all-time peak of 34,488 while the Nifty added 35.55 points to mark the record high of 10,659 levels.
Both the key indices soon fell down from the respective peaks, with the BSE Sensex is trading higher by 89 points at 34,442 while the NSE Nifty is trading higher by 10.75 points at 10634 levels in the later morning hours.
Shares of Coal India rose 7.69 percent to the day’s high of Rs 310 on BSE with notable gains.
Shares Tata Motors Limited and Tata Steel Limited rose up to 2 percent to Rs. 441.60 after Jaguar Land Rover sales advanced 7 percent to a record 621,109 vehicles in 2017.
Shares of SREI Infrastructure Finance rose 3 percent to Rs. 106.10 after a consortium of JSW Infra and Srei Infra-Finance is set to acquire the upcoming Sterling Port in Dahej from its lenders.
Rupee Watch: The Indian rupee was trading a little higher against USD in the opening trade on Tuesday. It opened at 63.48 a dollar, and was trading at 63.47 per dollar, up 0.03 percent from its last close of 63.50.
